i’ve added a couple anime series and the episodes keep bundling together, im sure im not using the right word for what its doing but i’ve tried looking up multiple ways and unable to find anything that would help me. episodes have been renamed using filebot and are split into different folders based on seasons and it just keeps doing it. Heres and example of what its doing
When Plex is scanning your files, it appears to confuse multiple episode files as the same episode. The little blue square with a number indicates there’s that number of different versions for that episode available.
This is most likely related to poor file naming… Plex can be very picky when it comes to following its naming conventions for tv shows / seasons / episodes.
Example:
TV Shows← folder that contains the shows in this library
.. > Show Name← the official name of the Show
.. .. > Season 01
.. .. .. > Show Name - s01e01 - Episode Title.ext← withextbeing your file’s extension;episode titleis optional;Show Namemust be an exact match of the show’s folder name
.. .. .. > Show Name - s01e02.ext
.. .. .. > ...
.. .. .. > Show Name - s01e26.ext
.. .. > Season 02

Agree with Tom. File naming is the key here, they need to follow the same format across all the seasons and episodes. I have had this at times, always cured by going in editing the folder/file names.

thats what i thought would be the problem, tried naming convention in tutorial, also followed matching thetvdb both with no avail. here a screenshot showing file and folder structure and server log.

I recommend you to use a 2-digit season number in the title of the season folder.
Place a dash in front of the season/episode code.
Don’t forget the Plex Dance after renaming them.

This is usually a sign that the Plex Dance hasn’t been performed correctly.
Either a step of the dance was skipped or the order of the step was not performed as noted.
Notice: you cannot perform the Plex Dance while your server is busy doing other things, particularly while it’s updating other libraries.
fixed the issue apparently it was using a third-party scanner. thanks for your time!
