LIbrary Corrupted, Recreated - Now won't read folder structure

Server Version#: DS1815+
Player Version#:DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 4

Having been running plex happily for a few years with TV and Films Libraries. Library appeared to corrupt itself when using the TV library so uninstalled from Synology, deleted library & reinstalled - Mount address hasn’t changed. Via Plex web app have recreated the libraries - Film detected and recreated fine, TV library won’t detect any of the sub folders with content just sees it as empty. At a loss on how to restore the TV library, I tried creating another shared folder and copied 1 sub folder across and it cannot read it in another share either.

Any thoughts appreciated.

the usual thoughts…
can you share an example of your folder structure / file names?

Hi Tom

Plex can find TV1, then it cannot find any sub folders underneath - given this worked until yesterday after when the library corrupted am scratching my head a little..

Appreciate your ideas.
Louisa

Here are some sample files

This Is what plex sees when I try to see folders below TV1 - Empty Folder Structure

Two comments from my side…

  1. Please check out the post about recent (sort of) changes to the Synology platform… you might need to follow those instructions for Plex to keep properly seeing your content:
Plex Media Server security changes for Synology users
  2. Your files are named wrong – at least not in the way Plex likes them to be named (w/ A being the season # and B being the episode #):
    • your naming: [show name] - AxBB - [episode name].avi
    • expected naming: [show name] - sAAeBB - [optional episode name].avi

As for #2… “it always used to work fine for me” is no guarantee it’ll keep working

Tom - Appreicate the quick response, I did some checking on the permissions side and it appears when I reinstalled Plex it didn’t permission the TV folder, it did repermission the film folder for Plex with Read

So if anyone else has those issues after a reinstall worth check the read settings have carried forward on the shared drives.
Thanks and can close this issue.
