Library is constantly updating - nothing found in logs

Log: Plex Media Scanner.log (3.5 MB)
Server Version#: 1.13.8.5395
Player Version#: 3.67.1

As title mentions, my PMS is constantly updating the whole media library when it shouldn’t be. I have Automatic Library Update enabled but have never had this issue before, here is the software I stack that interacts in someway with my media folder or Plex itself:
Ombi (Pulls Recently Added for notifications)
Radarr (Renames folders automatically, though have never had an issue; also manages if state of movie)

If I cancel the update, it’ll stop for a while. I can add a few movies, it’ll automatically update to add those, then after about 15 minutes it’ll start a whole refresh. I should mention that my file server is currently Windows Server 2016 & and I have mount points for the shared directories. As said before, I have never had this issue and just recently started having this problem. I don’t know what is causing it.

Adding PMS.log: Plex Media Server.log (2.2 MB)

Are you sharing the monitored library area with another application ?

Something is triggering it.

The only App that has access to the media library is Radarr which manages file names, nothing else, file names aren’t even changing to trigger this.

By having the iNotify service enabled (Update automatically when changes are detected), anything which writes to a monitored directory (ANY monitored subdirectory inclusive), PMS rescans.

Enabling “Partial scan” will allow you to hone in on what is being changed.

Is this the ideal settings then? Will a partial scan still be ran even though update automatically is turned off?

Something I noticed though is there is a lot of processing being done with these constant library updates. Generally when I ran an update manually it’d be SUPER quick and be done within seconds. When this update polls though it takes forever and seems to be reupdating all of the metadata as well as rearranging the recently added deck. Old movies are being re-added as “recently added”

Scan automatically enabled the detection.
Partial scan will limit the auto re-scan to only those directories which trigger it

I should have the first 2 options selected then?

Btw as of this morning, I was still having the reoccurring update.

with only periodic and partial set, you have limiting problem on the API ?
is caching enabled in the mount?

No caching enabled on mount. When I sent that screenshot above I had disabled ‘Scan my library periodically’ and the reoccurring update problem went away.

I re-enabled ‘Scan my library automatically’ and moved a new media file into the watched folder and Plex never scanned the new media into the library. I have since re-enabled the ‘Scan my library periodically’ and it picked up the new media file immediately but now I’m back to the constant updating issue.

My question now, which options do I need selected to ensure that when I add new media to the folder, it just scans that change and adds it without scanning the entire library?

Does the linux Plex server service need write access to the mount point which holds the library? I changed things around a little bit and gave it read access only, in the Windows Server comp management, I am noticing a HIGH amount of ‘Open Files’ in computer management.

PMS only needs read access to directories and files unless you wish to allow media deletion or setup DVR to record to a library directly

Can you explain the number of file locks caused from a high number of ‘open files’ in the windows share which don’t go away even after the update is completed?

I did a stat on a few different files, especially media files that have recently been re-added to ‘Recently added movies’ and the modify / change dates haven’t changed so I know nothing is being modified to the media folder or the root folder.

At this point, I need deeper help in understanding what is going on. I have so many issues with my PMS I don’t even know where to start.
