ISP is ~1000mbps. I’m running an i7-3770k, 32GB RAM.
When you created the library section, Under Advanced,
Did you turn off any options you don’t need?
I turn off chapter thumbnails (they take a lot of space and painfully slow to generate)
I also turn off collections. (i’m a little OCD that way)
In the time since last post, I just scanned 273 movies. All complete.
So come to find out there were a couple of issues. The first being my database had an issue so we did have to end up creating a new one, then ran into issues where files were showing looped paths and new files weren’t showing up at all.
What we discovered was that I accidentally had a symlink referencing the folder above it, so it was a valid loop which was really killing plex. We also discovered that permissions weren’t allowing the files to be seen by Plex so it would not pick them up. After we changed all the permissions to be 644 for files and 755 for directories things started to show as they should.
Then we were able to import my Preferences.xml file and the watch data and minus a few hours lost from the move I was able to get back up and running.
Thank you @ChuckPa for all of your help!
For reference:
Edit permissions to be what they should:
find DIRECTORY -type f -exec chmod 644 {} ;
find DIRECTORY -type d -exec chmod 755 {} ;
