Library Search Not Working

After update to PMS Version 1.19.1.2630, Search Funtion not work anymore. It always give me “No Results”

Server Version#: Version 1.19.1.2630
Player Version#: WEB

Which URL are you using? Your local IP address or https://app.plex.tv/desktop? If you’re using the first URL, try the second URL.

I tried both with same “No Results”

Same Problem over here with a Debian Host and Version 1.19.1.2645

There was a recent change to search pinned sources by default. If you enter search into the search bar, then click “search all sources” below the search bar, does it show results now? If not, what is the search query you are looking for?

I tried seaching in a Pinned Source and its not in dashboard. Global search was worked fine on previous version. So problem exactly is Global Search only searching contents in Dashboard

I’m having the same problem. Both in a browser (Firefox on Windows) and on Android, Search of library items just isn’t working suddenly as of less than a week ago.

I wonder if we’re back to the nonsense (which manifested itself differently last time) where Windows user IDs that have “special characters” like an é in my case have caused some Plex functionality to break.

When wait for a fix, you can work around it by enable “Include in Dashboard”, then you can hide it in Dashboard setting if you want

Thanks for the tip, but I hope they get it resolved soon. There are some things one doesn’t necessarily want to show up on the dashboard by default.

Before I included all the libraries in the dashboard, “search all sources” didn’t work for locally stored files BTW.

I have updated to the Versión 1.19.1.2645 and still having the same issue.

same…and easy searches, like “coco” - while my kid is watching it, as it shows in the dashboard. searching from the browser, as the admin. Do we need to empty trash or something? how does the search indexer get updated - can we cycle it?

If “Include in Dashboard” of this library is disabled, it won’t be included in global searches anymore.
You’ll have to select/dive into this library first, in order to search it.

This will be improved in a later server version.

But I have “Include in dashboard” enabled for my libraries and still doesn’t show up in search. Only way to browse through my media now is to go and do an alphabetical scroll through the entire library. Definitely needs to be fixed (version: 1.19.1.2645 running on a Drobo NAS).

Only results for me is the “streaming through plex” sources… which I’ve never used nor shown interest in using before. :man_facepalming:

I’ve also noticed that "Recently Added " doesn’t show up with new content that was recently added to the server. Looks like some metadata is simply just missing to be indexed by the server.

After some more debugging I have determined that the database was corrupted in the update to the latest version somehow. Upon attempting to load the DB into sqlite3 it became apparent that is the case and I just simply deleted the database and re-setup the server from scratch :sob:. Oh well it could be worse, right?

Maybe that will also help others here is the documentation for determining and fixing a corrupted database file. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201100678-repair-a-corrupt-database

Does anyone have an easier solution than redo the entire Plex? This search thing is absolutely terrible, can’t search any of my libraries now after adding a new library to my Plex. Did the debug thing, deleted a couple libraries and readded with no joy whatsoever

I am having the same issue any luck with a solution?
