Library Sort Order/Display, Replicate iTunes, and Sort Album Order?

New to Plex, using it only for local music (Plex Pass to stream home library remotely to iOS and laptop while traveling). I’m using iTunes to organize all music locally on the server then pointing Plex to ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music. New music get added via iTunes, all tags populated (including Artist and Album Artist) in iTunes, then picked up via Plex. All good.

The one thing I don’t like so far, and it appears to have been hashed out here in various conversations, is the Artist and Album sorting in the web player. Ideally I’d love to see a view that mimics the iTunes Artists view, with Artist list on the left with the ability to click into each artist and see an expanded list of albums while the Artist list is still on the left.

So two viewing/sorting questions:

• Is the above view available and I’m just missing it in the web player GUI? I can’t find anything specifically referencing this type of view in the Community but that could be due to my lack of searching skills.

• In the player, when I click into an Artist and see a full list of albums, I can’t find a way to sort albums by either date released or by name. Possible?

sounds like you would want to use custom filters. (honestly I don’t use music libraries much myself)

I think filters just filter content in or out, I don’t think there’s a way to change the view of filtered (or non-filtered) items.

Not exactly sure what you mean by the “view”

when viewing a custom filter by list you can also rearrange and add columns to sort by

Ah, gotcha. Yes, if you create a filter from the main library view page for a specific artist then you can sort by year, but I’m asking about sorting the resulting list when click into an artist by default. So from the main library, where I sort by Artist with no filter, I want to click on Beck and have an option to sort his albums by date (right now it defaults to reverse date sort with no option to change):
