Sorting Albums by Artist name and Album Title (Alphabetically) and not by release date

Hello,

I have a large music library and i like to show up the albums like this:

Albums orderd by Artist (easy to do) and then ordered by Ablum Title Alphabetically (now they are ordered by release date)

If I go to an Artist then they are orderd Alphabetically

I did this with the following method:

Mac OS X

File Location: ~/Library/Preferences/com.plexapp.plexmediaserver

On OSX you change the preferences with the help of the defaults command:

defaults write com.plexapp.plexmediaserver AlbumSort title

Is there a way to see the Album Titles Alphabetically in the overal music view?

Do you mean when viewing the music library by Album? If so, then simply use the Sort options in the sidebar.

What i’m trying to do with my music library:

View Albums
Sorted by Artist
and then Sorted by Album Title

Now i get
Album View sorted by Artist but then the Albums of an certain Artist are sorted by release date.

An example

Albums of the Artist Amos Lee are now sorted in my total library view:

Amos Lee (2005)
Supply and Demand (2006)
Last Days At The Lodge (2008)
Mission Bell (2011)
Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song (2013)
Spirit (2016)

and I want them sorted like this (Alphabetically)

Amos Lee (2005)
Last Days At The Lodge (2008)
Mission Bell (2011)
Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song (2013)
Spirit (2016)
Supply and Demand (2006)

Is this possible?

Okay, I see. As far as I know, there’s no way to do that.

This is exactly what this hidden preference does, but you must give it a sorting ‘direction’ as well. ascending in this case.

I know that works for the album list on the Artist Detail page, but does it work for the full library in Album view as well?

Actually, it doesn’t.
