There seems to be some weirdness regarding library sorting ever since the new music library was released. The library will always default to sort by album artist, not whatever category I sort by.
In this first image you can see how it looks like when sorted by Artist.
If I change the sorting in this view to something else, then back to “Title” it will look like this, and that how I would expect it so sort by default when changing to albums with the “By Title” sorting.
I also noticed that any filters applied will be removed when I change from Artist to Albums or vice versa. If I choose to filter by genre “Alternative Rock” and then decide I want to browse by something different, changing to Albums from Artist the “Alternative Rock” filter will be removed and I’m back at “All”.
I am pretty sure this all worked as expected with the old music library. Is anyone else noticing this?
Yes, this fix fixed some of the issues I mentioned. It does not fix the issue that happens if you want to change between album or artist view while using a filter (for example genre). The filter will be removed when changing between the two.
That is kinda unavoidable, because Album Genre and Artist Genre are technically different things.
Album Genre is only available as a quick filter in Album view mode, Artist Genre is only available in Artist view mode. Same applies to Style and Mood. Therefore this filter is lost when you switch the view mode.
If you use the ‘Custom Filter’, and you pick explicitly e.g. ‘Album Genre’, then you can switch the view mode without losing the filter.
