I have a strange issue that occurred overnight. I have one library that is accessible on PlexWeb but when I try to access it on the IOS app, it says the plex server isnt available. Every other library is fine. Everything else works like usual
I have rescanned the entire library, cleaned metadata etc. It is a library that records OTA tv shows.
Same issue with Samsung Smart TV app. Also noted the indicator for unwatched episodes was including the number of occurrences of the show in the guide. If I had one new recording, but there were 10 additional episodes in the guide, the indicator would display 11.
Someone glitched the code and it may have created an issue with specific players.
After you downgrade you need to force plex to reload the library. One way to do this is to change the folder for the library to something temporarily and then to change it back. That will force plex to reload all the files in the folder. As soon as this starts happening you should be able to see the folder again. You need to downgrade from 1.13.9 if you want the fix to stick. Otherwise, in my experience, it will return in a few hours.
Initially it seemed to last a day or two. By the time I rolled back it was reverting back about every ~6 hours. Don’t know what controls the length of time. My suspicion it has to do with how frequently the folder is updated (e.g. the frequency of new programs being added to the folder).
Downgraded to 1.13.8.5395 and deleted the recording library and created a new one with a new name and reimported all the existing recordings. Testing a record now and will see what happens overnight.
1.13.9 beta has now been superseded by 1.13.9.5456 which should fix the issue of failure to load TV Shows libraries with recorded media and also episode and watched counts
Fix for recorded TV libraries failing to load on iOS. (#9227)
(and tvOS and Roku)
