Library updater does not manually update library media

I am using the legacy agents.

ok thanks. @jonnyatlas @dolbymandts .can you please grab the server logs after you run into issue… Feel free to message them to me or @dane22 if you don’t want to post them here.

I don’t want devs to think it only an issue with old agents if it is happening with the new ones as well. hopefully we will be able to find the commonality between them all causing issue.

Thx.
Don’t you think it’s a problem in the underlying media file scanning system and not so much in the agents themselves?

yes likely. and i just want to make sure I get logs from everyone so it is not mistakenly discounted as an issue with old agents/scanners.

I updated to 1.25.4.5487 today, and the three scans I’ve run since then have completed without issue. If it happens again I’ll send logs your way.

Just a few minutes ago, my PMS became unresponsive after moving a movie directory from one library’s folder to another library’s folder. Coincidence? Hardly…

@BigWheel I am pushing logs your way via PM.

thanks

Hi All,

It seems I have a similar issue?
A scan won’t complete if started from any of my folders.

I’m running 1.25.4.5487 on Ubuntu

I can’t tell from the console what file/folder its getting stuck on?

I’ve read the thread ^^ and I don’t see any obvious solution.

–Using the legacy agents, as I didn’t want to lose any metadata from previously created media.

Many thanks in advance,
Nick

Update

Even though the scan never completes. if cancelled new titles are picked up, but rich metadata is not provided and the ā€œrefresh metadataā€ command is greyed out, I guess the db is aware that the initial scan is not complete?

Just confirming I have a similar issue as well. Indefinite library scans are preventing new content from being added. Happens since upgrading to 1.25.4.5487 and happens for both my Movies or TV libraries.

Hoping this gets fixed soon.

This might have just been addressed?
I ran another scan on my TV libraries and the legacy scanner has updated all the metadata not found during the previous incomplete scans…

I’ve seen lots of other forum posts with similar issues, so perhaps this was a global problem with the latest version?

Support for Plex is on fire! The team seem to be really quick at resolving issues!

I’m getting this issue with beta version 5492 also. Library scanner either hangs preventing new files from adding or just doesn’t find them at all. Downgrading my server version to 5468 until this gets fixed.

Same here, on 5492 and on 5487, 2 different server instances, both on QNAP (different models).

I’ve got the same issue with 5468 (DSM 7).

OK, so still not fixed I see.

Yeah you’re right, I’m getting it on 5468 too. I don’t remember this issue happening before though.

Version 1.25.3.5409 seems to be working just fine (at least on a Synology NAS). You should give it a try.

Had the same thing happen again on Version 1.25.5.5492 (QNAP)

Indexing libraries stopped and only a Plex Service restart would revive it.

Dang, still no progress with latest update.

It is been looked into, but not a simple issue sadly

Of course. The effort is appreciated regardless!
