I’ve never seen it like that before, but we could support that. I’ll add this to our tests.
That was just a test, i don’t name them that way.
I’d rather the issue with the agent fixed tbh.
The reverse also isn’t working s01e01
“I was under the impression that switching back and forth agents for converted libraries is not working? Are you using two different libraries to test that? Or is that another urban myth?”
Seems to be working for me. But maybe that’s the issue i’m having. it rescans everything when i do, even redetects intros changes meta data etc. eveything seems to work other than 11 shows dissapearing without any notice or warning.
Instead of switching agents of the library back and forth (which has been observed making libraries unusable in the past), create a second, new library with the new agent.
Or at least try the Plex Dance with that one series.
i do have a second plex instance i can spin up in a container to test against so I can A/B test against the same file structure. I’ll give those a go. not hopeful though. i’m a sr. developer so fairly tech savvy with what i can try.
Such a shame that things were so stable and issueless for so long and now i have to deal with all the issues that this new agent is throwing out. :-(. good thing i even realized there was an issue. it didn’t even alert me to the fact.
Question about the Plex Dance. I’ve just been moving the affected media out and in, do I need to move everything in the library out and back in? Moving the affected media, scanning and cleaing seemed to be doing the trick but that link seems to recommend all media/the entire library. thanks for any extra info. i stumbled onto “the shuffle” on my own trying to debug this stuff.
Only if all the items were misrecognized. Which they are not, if I understand your above numbers correctly.
No, it doesn’t.
Thanks for the clarification, good to know I was already doing the Plex Dance correctly. ![]()
" * TV shows which are not existing on TheMovieDB.org, but only on TheTVDB.com will often require you to identify them by including the database ID in the folder name. Peruse the above link for the exact syntax."
I’ll look into this. They are popular shows but perhaps adding the ID will resolve whatever issue is making them vanish. It’s at least a thread I can pull on and a possibe explination as to why these 11 of 460 shows are handled differently.

QUESTION: With the old agent, if it didn’t recognize a show, it would still show the show with an option to MATCH or FIX MATCH. Why do they just dissapear now? If it didn’t find them shouldn’t they still at least appear and ask you to match them like it used to do?
What happens if you go to your TV library (make sure it is on the Library tab at the top) and then filter for unmatched?

(Click on Unmatched to set the filter, I did not actually do that step).
If the series became unmatched (would seem odd), you should see them there.
If that has no results, then try the following.
Clear that filter and switch the library to folder view.

After you do that, find one of the series that you are having an issue with and click into the folder. If you have a season folder under there, click into that until you see the files. Hover over one of the files and all the way to the right you will see a pencil icon. Click that to open the edit dialog and then click the “Info” tab in the left column. If the series somehow got merged with another one, you should see at least 2 entries under the file section. You can see where it was merged with and then go to that show and ad the series level, click the 3 dots and there should be a split option.

Thank you so much for the suggestions!
The missing shows do not show up under Unmatched, they are just gone. I do have the shows I’ve manually matched still there, so that’s a good sign.
The second one about the Folders view seems like it should be helpful with debugging, I’ll spend some time to see if somehow they got merged into one of the other shows. If that’s the case I’ll post back with a update.
Thanks again for the helpful suggestion, I didn’t know Folder view was a thing.
Looks like you are onto something with it messing up and merging those shows into other shows incorrectly.
even with the correct db number in the folder name, regardless of naming.
i can manually split and match to fix them though. this is a way forward, thank you for saving the day.
frustrating when a simple library update causes so much unneeded stress without an answer. that folder view is handy. much appreciated.
Then you should include the show into which it was merged, into the Plex Dance.
If you are physically moving the files off the volume during the dance, you might want to disable “automatic” and “periodic” library updates. Because if a library scan is performed while a file hasn’t been copied over completely, it might get mistaken for another file, due to the hash value.
Great tips, thanks for the help as well. ![]()
