Ok guys, this discussion has totally gone off topic. Please get back on track or this will get closed.
So glad I somewhat recently bought the Lifetime Plex Pass. I actually initially didn’t even think I needed/wanted any of the Plex Pass features; I just wanted to support the Plex company and devs. It has turned out to be quite cool though and I especially love getting the Plex Pass preview release of the Roku channel. It’ll be nice to hold a Plex Pass throughout the future because who knows what else might be released later on. It feels good not having to worry about paying any more money for it.
Still no official response to the OP’s comments.
Regards

How about official comment?

Who doesn’t love lyrics?Plex Karaoke party anyone?
Doesn’t even work with chromecast, the one client where I could see it being useful.
Why is this topic marked as answered when no official comment has been received?

Because @SteVeeMixx accepted my first response as an answer.
Last year a Plex employee did say that anyone with a lifetime Pass would keep it and that they (Plex) might stop selling “Lifetime” at any time they choose. Of course coming from me second hand it is far from official.
Yeah, I get that, but that was not really an answer, no offence.
On that basis you could mark every topic as answered after one reply has been received, which would be pointless.

No offense taken at all. It is up to the original poster as to what he/she considers an answer and an answer for one person may or may not be an answer for others.
In response to a question “All answers are statements but all statements are not necessarily answers.”
I could ask the question “What are cats good for?” and someone could say “They are only good for feeding Alien Life Forms.” Then I could accept that as my answer. Others could say “They make good companions” or “They keep the vermin under control on my farm.” I might think those are not answers. It is up to me, as the one who asked the question, what I consider an answer. Like with almost anything else everyone has to make their own judgments about what is an answer.
Also “answers” do not even have to be correct for them to be marked as an answer because, after all, an incorrect or incomplete answer IS an answer and the only person of importance as to what is an answer is the asker of the question.
Now, have I confused the issue enough or need I same more? I have a near infinite capacity to obscure meaning with language. :-*
Edit: It could even be that the OP simply wanted the inane notifications to stop so he/she just marked something as an answer.
If you have a lifetime pass, that will never go away. The lifetime pass is still available now but may not always be offered. If and when this is no longer available, an announcement will be made just like the last price increase.

Will an announcement be made to the individuals who can’t use the Plex for Android TV app because of the 24Hz stuttering that nothing is being done about?
What would really be cool is if plex would port PMP to nvidia shield. Agree with the post above.
Thank you everybody for the comments, even though it went way off topic, back on topic, back off topic.
I accepted Elijah_Baley’s comment because I though it made sense, he did give his opinion but added valuable factual information too, Plex is going to honor its current lifetime memberships even after “Plex Pass” is no longer offered.
I don’t ever get a lot of answers to any of my posts and I thought the first response covered it, please if anyone has more information then post it, I think a lot of users would still be interested.
One more reason I jumped the gun to marking the post answered…the little text box that keeps reminding you that you have answers to something you asked. I’m sorry but that gets annoying, should be a notification on top of the post, not taunting you every time you open the forums.
Now I’m going off topic, anyway, I hate to see the Plex Pass go, I do understand if it’s a business decision to only offer monthly/yearly subscriptions, it keeps a more consistent cash flow. AT&T did it with the removal of contracts, Plex is thinking ahead, even though I hate to see the pass go, I am excited about what is in store for us.
I’m glad I did the lifetime pass when I did.
So can I get a clear answer to what is going on and when they are stopping this?

That is about as clear as it gets.

No, that is not clear, it’s the usual Plex Inc non-committal response, clear would be either:
‘Yes it is stopping and will stop on DD/MM/YYYY.’, or,
‘No, it will not be stopping.’

I found it very clear. Demanding that they commit to a decision that may or may not come in the future is kinda ludicrous, if you think about it.
There are no immediate plans to stop offerring the lifetime pass, but like all business decisions, this may change at any time. If and when that decision is ever made, it will be announced with a deadline.
