Lifetime Plex Pass

I am a lifetime member and would like to be notified when you come out with a new update that can actually be installed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled more times then I can remember. I have spent way too much time looking for obscure files to delete.

Maybe just a small patch that would delete all the hidden files you put in that seem to be preventing an install.

If you are having issue installing an update it might be helpful if you post which OS you are using and which version of PMS you are attempting to install.

For example, if you are using Windows we can point you to this support article to begin finding a solution to your issue See: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/202967086-Windows-Errors-trying-to-upgrade-install-or-uninstall-Plex-Media-Server

I have never had any major problems with any server install. It just works. I think virtually every installation problem is the result of the server’s operating system not being up to date or unstable or a corrupted download or other programs running on the server that do not work and play well with others that cause compatibility problems.

It is best practice to run Plex on a computer that has no or few other tasks and is not used for regular daily computing.

If you actually report details about your setup and about the problem you are having someone may be able to help you. But with the vague incomplete info you have provided there is little that can be done to help.

And remember that there’s no “must” in a Plexpass membership to install the latest Plexpass release. If it hasn’t got a certain preview function that you really need - you could install the latest Public release instead which should be “safer” in that regard. You will still gain the Plexpass features with your membership such as Premium music and all the others.

Sorry if I offended anybody. Just tired of doing just that, chasing all the fixes. Feel free to delete my original post.
Thanks
Mark

You certainly didn’t offend anyone and there’s no need to delete anything. You’re allowed to talk about this stuff for sure. I just think that people got frustrated that you didn’t provide more details into your issues. We’re all nerds here wanting to help and fix stuff, not avoiding them  But with that said, there’s no shame as I previously mentioned, that if you (for various reasons) don’t have the possibility to do the investigation - stick to the Public release. You will still have all Plexpass functions available.
