Limit MINIMUM Remote Stream Bitrate

I know we can limit the upper limit, but is there any way we can demand a minimum stream rate? - im tired of the kids varrious apple devices often ignorring settings and just going for 1.5mb or lower - even on wifi - please dont start on “just set settings in apple like this” - its been done and tested and they all have a life of their own - so back to question - is there any way to demand 3mb minimum or more? - not in a visible setting … but some wizards roam this forum

PS: Also happens on the windows plex app on laptops - just ignorring setting for quality, so would love a way to demand a minimum setting

not really, just giving you full control, so a bad setting dont waste your server 100% when not needed :slight_smile:

Since it happens on several devices and on both ios and windows (maybe even macos?) I must ask if you are sure you’ve used the correct settings.

You ask for a minimum of remote stream bitrate but if you are on the same network (wifi) as the server then that setting doesn’t do anything. It’s the other one you should change (don’t remember the name, maybe local streaming. Maybe.).

With that being said; it is well known that many want a setting that at the very least allows the server owner to set a minimum suggested qualilty. Meaning that as long as the users network allows it it will not go under a certain mbps.

Not having a setting like that is one of the extremely few things that I think is straight up odd that it’s not already implemented. Like come on… it’s 2021.
