I have some concert DVDs I have ripped to my movie library, to have all the extra features, subtitles etc. it would be nice if there was a way to link them to the Music Artist. Maybe using the Collection option with an Artists Name. Or a special Tag option.
I’ve used the local media for some concerts using hard links/symlinks from the Movie File to the Artist as a “-concert” under the music library artist folder. It works, but not as pretty if there was an actual movie option.
Especially if I wanted actual movies like Pink Floyd: The Wall, or the Yellow Submarine to display along with the related artist.
Or documentaries like Metallica: Some Kind of Monster
Yeah I’ve tried this. But it isn’t as nice as if the related movies showed under the artist in the music library. I use it regularly for Movies and Tv shows. It feels counter intuitive to make a “Rammstein” Collection in the music library. When it will essentially just be the same thing as looking at the Rammstein Artist. Without the biographies, without the breakdown of album types, the Music Videos. Etc.

Just having the collection is enough – you’ll then see the content of same-named collections when you watch the artist. There’s no need to access Rammstein through the collection itself to achieve what you’re looking for. Just having the collection should do the trick.
From that perspective I’m considering this feature is available / can be achieved with Plex as-is.
