Has anybody managed to link their Amazon Drive accounts to a locally run Plex instance? I tried this on my Mac using ExpanDrive, which mapped it as a network drive. I then added a new library to Plex, and have been able to see my Amazon directories, yet when I then scan for Media it seems to hang up completely. Did anybody try this and has been successful, or is there another way I should go to do this - if it is possible at all?
My internet Linux box sees the data from ACD just fine, and that stuff is even encrypted. So, you either have an issue with download bandwidth, or the cloud mounting software is inefficient. Why you would even want your local computer fetching data from internet storage seems odd, but I’m sure you have your reasons.
i cannot find a proper answer, but at the moment i dont have a decent internet connection to stream/upload, so dumpin video i want to stream on my linked google drive (which is linked in cloud sync) which gives me 15GB to play with …
if i link Amazon cloud (as im a prime member there) … what capacity does that have… as can only find unlimited for photos, no capacity’s for video format …
and how does this differ to the now hyped and much talked about amazon drive ? hows that set up ? as i presume thats ACTUAL plex server too ??
For a while I used StableBit’s Cloud Drive mapped as a local drive letter and connected to my Amazon Cloud account to act as a drive supplying content to my local Plex Server. It worked fine. It was pretty much just like the server was connected locally.
Netdrive will work as well.
I have tested both under Windows using several different devices as clients and I had no real problems. One thing I would note is that to use any internet connected drive in a local Plex server you need to turn off the “Automatically empty trash after scan” setting or, should you loose internet connection you could loose all you library settings, watched status and other information.
