CURRENT STATE: I have created folders on my laptop’s hard drive with video files and added movie libraries in Plex linked to these folders and am able to stream without any issues. I am new to Plex and loving every minute of it so far!
PROBLEM: I have so much video content that I have run out of room on my laptop. I have created an Amazon Drive account to store all my video files there. However, the issue now is that I can’t seem to figure out how to create a movie library that is linked to my cloud folders to stream video from there (as opposed to needing to keep a copy on my hard drive).
Is this even doable? Can anyone provide some assistance with this? Thanks!
This is what you want, but it’s still in Beta and invite-only.
There are other custom non-official options if you wanted to rent your own server (Dedicated or VPS) and use your media stored on ACD. But these are highly custom and you would be largely on your own in getting it running.

Thanks BrianAz. That is exactly what I want. Drats that I missed that blog. I would have held off on upgrading my account until it’s rolled out.
That said, I have read of some users using netdrive or expand drive to mount their acd as local (external) storage and it seems streaming plex from this works… Might be an option for you.
I’m on my phone at the moment, so can’t really look up URLs, but those of us who are already streaming from Amazon, are using things like rclone to upload, and acd_cli to mount network drives.
If you search for either of those on Google, you should fnd some answers
NetDrive2 works well to upload your media to ACD. I use AllwaySync to synchronize my content between ACD and my Personal Cloud or do it manually. PlexCloud is coming along well.
I just started toying with using rclone mount from the new version with my encrypted ACD remote as a source for a library on my local PMS here at home.
I’ll keep my local storage indefinitely, but I am going to try using the encrypted ACD storage as my primary source to see how well it stands up to everyday use. I like my hard drives and the server I built to host them, but it would be nice to not have to pay so much for my content storage.
