Linux-based Plex not cooperating with my Wifi network

Server Version#: 1.25.2.5319
Player Version#: 4.66.1

Using a dual-boot desktop PC, with Windows 10 and Linux Mint 20.

I can get Plex to work fine from Windows… but on Linux I’m having problems.

I previously managed to get it to work: see this thread Floundering newb needs help started by me in late 2019.

This time, I have done everything: the firewall is set to “inactive”, “Enable DLNA” has been checked, the files have been scanned. The music library is also on “/disks/Elements/Audio/Music library”, the permissions for which have been set as per the instructions of Chuck given here: Linux Tips - #2 by ChuckPa.

I can play tracks from my music library from within Plex itself (i.e. the page in the web browser), and, interestingly, I can play tracks from it on my phone using the “Plex TV” app, so at least this seems able to detect the presence of Plex on the Wifi network.

But no mention of Plex appears either on my TV or in my phone when using Musicast app. I previously used the latter to stream music to my Yamaha Musicast receiver. According to my notes from the time, the word “Plex” should appear under “server” in this app (i.e. this being one of the possible inputs to the receiver, along with “phono”, “Internet radio”), etc.

Instead, under “server” I get “Technicolor DLNA Server”… when I tap that, after a long wait I get “Access error”. My Wifi router is a Technicolor router, so I am assuming for the moment that this is not a software configuration thing.

I have downloaded the recent logs and had a glimpse at them. There seem to be about 20 different types of log. I’ve had a look at some of the most recent, and nothing has jumped out at me.
