Linux Desktop for Steam Deck? (Steam Store or non-snap)

Are there any plans to support steam deck? Currently snapd isn’t available, but you can install with pacman or flatpak. Would you consider publishing directly to the Steam Store or providing the linux-desktop via pacman or flatpak?

ps. its amazing you’ve built a linux client, very much appreciated.

Did you read Way to Be HTPC | Plex ?

I had not seen there’s a flatpak coming (or that post), that’s great… What would be the chances of distribution via the steam store? That would massively simplify installation and setup and make it a killer app for steam deck (which is selling like hot cakes).

the chances are probably zero that they would want to pay steam for the privilege of being in the steam store (ie steam tax on plex pass).

But you are not the first, and probably not the last to request it.

Feel free to open a thread in the Feature Suggestions - Plex Forum so others can vote on it and provide their own feedback.

Still waiting on my steam deck, but I also think it would be an awesome plex client for both portable and docked use.

It’s free unless they charge for the software afaik, but yeah.

Steam deck is an amazing product, I am thoroughly impressed but there needs to be work on the app eco system to replace tablets etc
