"List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth" how to make it work?

Hi i’m using my Plex from my PC to connect with my PS4, but i recently took my old PS3 and put it in the living room for my parents to connect Plex from there** (everything is local only in my house, no remote accesss is off). **Ps3 however doesn’t support “secured connections” so in order to use him i need to change “Required” to “prefered” and only then it works, however it puts me in risk.
I had an idea to go around this. I’ll keep the secured connection on but put the Ps3 IP in the “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”, that should keep the security on without risking any other entrence except my Ps3 in the living room. the problem is that the IP i’m putting dont works. i tried the IP 10.0.0.X - no respond, i tried the IP from checking “what’s my IP adresss” still dont work, would love if anybody helps me out.
**I want to give my Ps3 access on that list but still keep the secured connection on required. **
thank you

Have you looked at their documentation? https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200430283-Network

Reading through this doc it sounds like the connection setting (required, preferred, etc) supersedes all the other variable settings below it. I would also try adding subnet to the single entry. Good Luck!

Hey bbubulka, I’m wondering if you could provide the example of what that would like? Meaning how would you type it? The IP and subnet numbers ,periods, commas …
I’m a newbie and need a little more help.

Even though PLEX references this for a “network entry” and not for a single, you could try this: 192.168.1.200/255.255.255.0

The example below is for a simple CLASS C network IP Address. Change IP and subnet to fit your setup

Also, do you have a CLASS A network setup at your house? You mentioned 10.0.0.x above. Most folks would not so that makes me believe your pulling your public IP address. What is the IP address of your PS3? Should see it in the network settings on the PS3.

Thank you for the example, I have not tried changing anything yet. I’m working on another issue presently.
