List of IP addresses used by Plex for remote access

Server Version#: 1.25.5.5492

Is there a list of IP addresses that Plex uses to manage connections between app.plex.tv and my local server? I see connections coming in from 54.170.120.91 and 45.51.207.89 regularly, and would like to be able to lock my router down to only allow connections on my Plex remote port from legitimate Plex IP addresses.

Also be aware that if you use remote access to allow friends and family to access your server, you will need to explicitly allow each of their remote IP addresses (if you intend to lock down remote access to TCP port 32400).

Yep. For now, the only people that I allow to use Plex remotely have free Plex.tv accounts and I grant them access that way.

That’s exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

I’m curious what you mean by this. Plex does not distinguish between free and paid accounts with how direct remote access is provided. A remote user is either able to connect to your server remotely or is not.

For them to be able to connect directly, your firewall/router must accept/forward connections from their WAN IP address to TCP port 32400 to your server. If you only allow the IP addresses in the list above, this cannot happen.

The exception to this is if you use Plex’s relay service. This doesn’t require remote access to be functional on your server at all, as all remote connections are proxied via Plex’s servers, to which your server has already established an outbound connection to (assuming you have relay enabled).

Sorry… yes. I use the relay service. I didn’t make that clear in my initial post.

do you mean you use dynamic dns service as well. if not it could help slimily the clients that connect threw your firewall. they install a dynamic dns updater on there pc, signup for a free account. then there ip would be a domain name that never changes. then you add the dynamic dns name they have instead of there ip. incase there ip changes in the future.
