I would like to see a list view for shows and movies. The "poster view" is ok, but not convenient for browsing a large number of shows (especially when not familiar with the posters of shows or movies) which are sometimes useless or meaningless.
This used to be the default view for the GTV client; but in the latest updates seems gone.
a list of
[ICON/POSTER] [Show Name] [Season or Episode #]
that can be scrolled up and down through in many cases would be a faster way to move through the library.
In the past I have purchased the same movie twice. I now carry my collection on my phone so when I run across a sale I do not purchase duplicates.
Don't assume everyone is so into their collection that they know what they have. This is doubly true when you have more than one person buying and loading the movies.
...
If first, then I humbly disagree, since you as the admin should know about your own medias.

Nailed me here, and sorry for that....Wait...That came out wrong......Sorry for not been as wide as I should have been here, and instead acted as a NAG, okay?
But when that's said, I really think your case limited to a very small fraction of Plex users, since I bet not many of us allows others to manipulate our medias....Could be wrong here though...
A list view like the Plex/Web manager has would be handy on client devices. Not so much for GTV client but i can see it working well for mobile devices.

Then please explain why you didn't press the like button :P
Its not that I allow others to add movies. I have movies on my server purchased by me, my wife, and my son. I don't care to see my wife's stuff nor much of my son's. Having a list would help sort through them a bit easier. Plus I have been collecting DVDs since 1999. I now have over 1200. Many of those I purchased in bulk when video stores went out of business. So, even without my other family members, I do not know what all I have.
This is the same discussion we had with the creator of Serenity. He delivered a decent (no perfect) solution.
And FWIW, I went into Macy's on Friday and purchased the exact same shirt I had purchased a few months earlier. So it is not just movies I need help with.
