Having an odd issue with my Plex server, running the latest (1.22.0.4163) but is also happening with the previous two releases.
I’m using Fire Tv clients - one is a 4k stick about a year old, which is running a USB Ethernet adapter. The other is an older Fire Tv Pendant which is using WiFi. Both are running plex client 8.13.2.23227
After a period of time during tv tuner playback (720 or 1080, sometimes live, sometimes in progress) the playback will stutter with the spinning wheel and eventually just stop. Looking at the system in plex dash - I see the box is chilling in terms of cpu and ram, but bandwidth ramps way up. Looking at the charts in Plex Dash -On the hard-wired stick - typical bandwidth tops out at 12 Megs, but has gone all the way up to 80 or 90 when this occurs.
Given nothing else has changed server or infrastructure-wise, I’m at a loss as to why this has been happening the last couple of versions.

– Update 2021-03-14 - after a fresh reload of the media server on my Ubuntu box, I still saw bandwidth going through the roof watching live TV. However, recordings played find.
That’s when I dug a little deeper and saw that live tv was being transcoded, recordings would direct play.
Checking one hard-wired fire tv stick settings - I saw that I had enabled the “transcode interlaced live tv”. (Facepalm) Turned off - now using 12-16Mb of bandwidth for the stream, and is direct playing video.
I’ll have to run this for a while to ensure the fix is good, but so far looks promising.
