Interesting, doesn’t look like the beta is available yet for Synology.
I’m updated now to 1.15.0.659 on the Beta channel, and agree. It does look as if it’s working now. Tuning to a channel with bad signal no longer locks the tuner for other channels. Hurray!
running Version 1.15.1.710 and still not working. I never would’ve signed up for lifetime had I known there’d be no support! says I have a Homerun DVR which I do but it can’t load guide and will not play anything. I can’t even delete it and start over. When I delete it it comes right back. Ive even deleted the whole application and reinstalled.
Currently running 1.15.2.793. Using Chrome on Windows 7. Most of our channels will tune and play, but some say “Playback Error. Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna.” HD Homerun View program on that same computer can tune and play at least one of the channels just fine (did not check the rest). I also checked Plex on another computer on my home network running Windows 10. I tried Edge, Chrome, and Brave browsers. All have the same result: channel 4 (FOX) works, channel 5 (NBC) does not. (FYI: I’m in the DFW, Texas area.)
Still looking for any kind of response from Plex. This has been too long and affecting too many people to not hear anything from Plex. I’m perfectly willing to trouble-shoot with someone from Plex if they would reach out.
Try using Plex Media Player instead on your Windows computers (https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app); if that doesn’t work then post logs from PMS, capturing the time you try to tune one or more of those channels.
This is a different issue than what’s being discussed in this thread.
I would recommend creating a new thread, be sure to include server OS and server version number.
On the windows 10 computer, the Plex media player would play channel 5 live and was able to record it. I thought the Plex media player was just a different interface to the server, but apparently not if the server did not work but the media player did.
However, on the Windows 7 computer, I get “Playback Error. Could not tune channel (no parts).” After a little while, the message changes to “Playback Error. Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna.” After turning on debug logging, I found:
…
“level”: 1,
“message”: “No type was found for the undefined”,
…
“level”: 3,
“message”: “[Metrics] Updating session last interaction time”,
…
Does that help or any other recommendations to make the Windows 7 computer work? (The Windows 10 computer is in the office instead of the living room, so not really the computer I want to use for Plex.)
PS: Additional info: I can point the live TV and DVR settings in the Plex Media Player on the Windows 7 computer to the Windows 10 computer and watch TV live that way. I can also record that way, but it appears to save the file on the Windows 10 computer. This is not a terrible option, but I still want to be able to record directly on the Windows 7 computer. Any additional tips would be appreciated. I put the debug logs above because I’m not sure where the “logs from PMS” you mentioned are located.
I have this same issue on my HDHomerun Dual on Windows 10, which used to work just fine but it’s been a few months since I used it. Plex recognizes the tuner scanning works fine but no Live TV or recording, with dreaded Playback Error message. Server version 1.15.4.993. Tuners work fine with HDhomerun app. Is there any resolution to this?
