Hi, I use my android app in tv mode in my android box. Recording schedule and live tv stuff does not show up in the sidebar. Only when in mobile mode does it show up.
And yes I’m running the latest server and just released android app.
What do you mean by “in my android box?” What is your android box? There were only a couple of Android TV devices that were initially supported. Without knowing what your android box is it is difficult to tell whether it is supported or not.
Same on my android phone. I’m not using an android tv box, it’s an android os box running plex and other android apps. A 912 box.
When I load the newest android plex app it only shows the DVR and live tv options in mobile mode. Not tv mode.
In settings on the app on android phone under application layout. There is option for mobile and tv layout. The tv layout option only shows the basic functions on the sidebar. No recording or live tv options.
The only clients that are supported as of now are Android TV(Nvidia Shield, MiBox, ADT-1, Razor Forge and Nexus player these are the only devices that actually run the Google Android TV OS), IOS, Apple TV and now android mobile layout not TV layout.
This is why you see the options when you switch it to mobile layout.

Not false advertising at all… but I’m not here to argue that.
On a side note…
If you use a silicondust tuner, use this plex channel for your home users for live TV for the time being. This channel will run on the same plex server install as the new plex DVR:

This channel also can be used in a Plex home situation to grant users live TV, where the new plex live TV integration does not.
My solution is kodi with wmc (dvr) for now until plex gets a real channel guide also. And working t.v. mode on android.
