I just setup Plex Media Server. My tuner was detected and scanned the channels without issues. When I try to watch Live TV I get audio only with no video. I tried to record just to see if the DVR is working but Plex crashes when it tries to record. To troubleshoot I installed WinTV 8 and works just fine without issues. Below is my current setup.
I have a very similiar setup, tuner and OS-wise. In my logs I get a couple weird entries:
“Unable to find title for item of type 5”
AND
“WARN - [E] http_streamer_t: http write error”
My setup is a little unique as my AppData isn’t on the same drive as PMS. I’ve had issues in the past trying to put it onto my DrivePool and learned my lesson. Unfortunately that isn’t helping much with this
Similar issue. New computer (ironically i7 with GTX 1060 also), black screen but audio works, crashes when recording. I m using windows 10 and HDhomerun Primes. I thought it might be a codec issued since I could not get video in Media Player so I added the Shark007 codec pack (for MPEG2 codec to work). It fixed playing HDhomerun directly in Media player but plex still doesn’t work. I have similar problems from web client and my iphone.
@Stingreye which version did you downgrade to? I had the same issue and downgraded to 1.9.2.4285 and now get a “spinning wheel of death” instead of the black screen and no audio or video.
@kellers2390 I haven not downgraded yet. My plan was to try this version which it sounds like was the version you tried.

That’s the only older version I found available for download by toggling the plex pass button too.
I will let you know if it works for me when I try it later.
I had the exact same problem with a black screen during live TV and audio only. The problem went away when I stopped trying to play in Microsoft Edge and started playing it in Chrome.
