This problem started a couple of weeks ago now. I will start my live TV, about 1 minute into watching a channel (does this on all channels), it will buffer, then start the video again from about 30 seconds before it started buffering. Then it will play for another minute or so, buffer, then play for about 30 seconds, then buffer and then eventually I will get a Playback Error. It suggests that the single strength is not strong enough.

I’ve been searching the forums, but I am not seeing this specific problem. Any help will be appreciated.

Do you have subtitles/Closed Captioning on? This is CPU intensive and low to mid end CPU’s can’t manage this.

I am having similar issues. Live TV playback on ALL Fire TV devices is spotty and barely works. But I can load the Live TV from my computer, tablets, cellphone etc with no issues. Its almost like the buffer timeout on the Amazon devices is too fast and doesn’t allow for the Live TV to play cuz you can see it start and then it stops and you get the popup saying “Unable to connect to server” or whatever the verbiage is. I went from the Fire Stick 4k to the Fire TV Cube thinking issues could be related the hardware but no. Everything else in Plex works fine. Just the Live TV you select a channel and get error. Then repeat about 3 times and channel plays. Its very frustrating. Oh and sometimes no channels works at all. You have to force stop and clear cache to get it to start working again. Please can someone from Plex look into this and make the app work better on Fire TV Devices.

I solved my issue by installing an old version of the plex software (the may 2023 version) that was working properly. Now i am skiping versions as they come out.
