When I watch live TV it has to buffer every few seconds and then replays the last second or two of the show. Then it buffers again after 2-5 seconds and repeats. While watching the news (live) it said on the TV that it was 7:06 but in reality because it had to buffer so frequently it was 7:30. It worked fine a few months ago and has been getting worse. it is unusable at this point. My internet is 200 mbps… not sure if there is any more needed information. I have read some other people with similar issues and it was cause by an update. I have been hoping an update would fix it but it has been over a month and still terrible.
lol it is mine as well. It is being worked on. In the meantime back dating your client app to 8.11 will fix. I may have someone reach out to you for logs if thats ok?
Internet speed is irrelevant for local use, unless you are remote streaming. If this is a new issue to you, you could try reverting back to an older version of PMS. I remember I had issues loading channels not too long ago and had to install 1.21.1.3876 for my use case.
Also, always make sure the PMS is hardwired, any other clients should be using 5 Ghz Wi-Fi if possible.
What devices have you tried testing this on, more than one? Always avoid the web browser, that will nearly always transcode and should be used as a last resort.

For a few of us, it seems to be happening on android devices specifically, but others are reporting xbox and windows as well. Roku seems unaffected, and at least for me, watching liveTV on the plex web page through chrome is unaffected as well.
Count on me if you need logs or any particular testing you may need.
In my case is affecting Android devices (nVidia Shield and Samsung S8+) and , Chrome and Apple are working fine.
I had some doubts about the Windows App really working, as from the top of my head I have sometimes had issues with it. However, I am now testing and it is running flawlessly - I will report back if this changes.

Just to let you know that sideloading player 8.11 solved the buffer issue on my 2017 Shield (running both PMS and player).
I am so thrilled to recover basic LiveTV functionality, that I now hesitate to perform the PMS update (1.21.4) available on Google Play.
It seems paradoxical that an app with “lifetime” pass is actually plagued for months by various issues:
USB tuner not detected for some time, some years ago (due to shield kernel update)
now various buffer issues (before that one, last year the Live stream would just stop and go back to electronic program guide)
network code not supporting carrier-grade nat … I guess Plex Pass suscribers want to use LiveTV, because they are in an area with poor network coverage and CGN is the only option.
Yeah it’s unfortunate. But the biggest problem I think is when it’s brought up in beta and ignored, that’s why it gets released and this issue happens. They need more moderators and more involvement so this doesn’t happen. But I’m just glad it’s getting fixed.
I posted about this issue on 2/18. Luckily if it’s a recording I can go to live and then skip back to beginning though that’s not good for sports when you don’t want to know what the score is live.
Unfortunately not yet. As soon as they have a resolution or a resolution in the works, I will know and I’ll let everyone know. I imagine we should hear something this week( speculation). I’m a mod intern jk.
