Live TV channel switching sometimes crash app

This is regarding the latest public Android Mobile app (.20).

Often when I switch the channel, the app crashes.

It only happens if a channel is already playing and I switch to another one. If nothing is playing then it’s fine.

I’m trying to reproduce this without much luck. Is there any additional details to this? Are you watching for some time then switching channels? Watching fullscreen for some time then minimizing then switching? Scrolling through the guide before switching channels? Are you staying within the Guide pivot or moving around inside the Live TV page (What’s On, Favorite Channels)? How often is sometimes?

I’ve been trying to figure out a pattern ever since you answered but I can’t really find any. To your questions:

Waiting for some time? Both.
Watching fullscreen then minimizing? Both.
Scrolling? Both.
I’m staying on the guide page at all times.

Well, when I posted this it was like every other channel switch. Which is why I reproduced it so easily and decided to post about it. However, today when I try it’s like 1 crash every say 15 switches. I’m not sure why there would be a difference. I’m doing the same thing on the same phone on the same channels. Can it be that something takes too long to load or something? Either the app (it’s kinda sluggish for me) or the channels?

Probably unrelated (ignore if so) but the entries in “what’s on” do load but if I press any of them, I just get an error.

The issue is the same on .22.

Have you found something? Currently it’s every 2 or 3 channel switches. If it helps: the picture do sometimes manage to show, even the audio starts for a split second, then crash.

So it seems to be able to load them. But something crashes the app the moment it starts playing.

Can I get your PMS logs and clients again?

I don’t want to be that person, I really dont. I tried not to be.

But at this point I’m just shocked over the new app. What the hell are you guys doing? I have so many issues with it which you guys can’t seem to fix, over several months, this being probably the least severe for me. So instead of laying my hope and time on this conversation and keep giving you logs (again), I will just hook my TV up to the computer and watch via Plex web.

I’m done contributing.

But please understand this: you (as a company) have disappointed a lot of people recently. Truly understand that.
