Live TV consistently chokes when viewing remotely

Viewing Live TV remotely is completely usable at this point. This used to work perfectly. Its not a bandwidth issue. Server has 500Mbps up and 100 down where I’m viewing from. The broadcast is MPEG2 OTA. ChannelsDVR on the same box works perfectly, and playing the recorded content that has not been transcoded plays back perfectly. There seems to be an issue with the HLS stream while watching LIve. Its like there absolutely no buffer at all when watching Live. I noticed that the smart YVs here are able to view Live, but its transcoding and the reason given is HLS Streams are not allowed on this device. But the transcode isn’t changing the quality of bandwidth of the stream, it just works. Its more like a remix on the fly. Theres no option to choose this. The trascoder for Live TV is pretty much ■■■■. When tell it to transcode a 720p broadcast to 720p high medium or low, it does nothing, just sends MPEG2 straight thru. I have to choose 480p in order to transcode 720p broadcasts.

Why has Live TV/DVR so shamefully neglected, when thats the whole reason I bought Plex Pass? Watch Live or Start 26 minute ago (just an example) hasn’t worked in 2 years. Do these no even use their own product? If they did they should be annoyed enough at the 300 plus bugs in it to fix it, rather trying to add arcade gaming.

My first job in IT was a Test Engineer, I help them if the ask, I hope they do. I’ve been a Developer for the past 20 years and the way this product has been developed over the past 3 years is aweful!!!
