Sorry for what may be a stupid question, but I’ve seen next-to-nothing about CC/Subtitle support for Live TV and DVR recordings. The iOS app shows subtitles for both Live TV and the subsequent recordings, while the Android TV app shows them for neither, and no indication is given that they exist for DVR recordings from the Android TV playback interface.
Likewise, when I post-process remux my recordings to MKV, ffmpeg’s output gives no indication that subtitles are present (I specifically request a subtitle copy in my ffmpeg command), yet there they are in the iOS playback for both Live TV and DVR.
I suppose what I’m asking is for confirmation that they’re not yet supported for Android/Android TV and that there’s been no mention that it’s being worked on. I did see that that sidecar subtitles just got support in a recent beta, but I don’t suppose that’s relevant here.
