I’m running PMS 1.18.0.1944 and seeing blank LiveTV artwork like the attached picture. I’ve deleted my DVR, restarted PMS, then added back my DVR and rescanned - it still behaves this way. It shows like this on all clients (AppleTV, iOS, Web, etc).
Any tricks for fixing this?
I am having the same issue.
Has anyone found a solution for this? I have had this problem for months. I believe it happened after a major release last summer. I, too, have deleted and re-added the DVR. I created a new library just for Antenna/DVR recordings. Nothing I have tried has helped.
Please note: The images are missing ONLY for local programming, like the nightly news. Shows like ABC World News Tonight, Jeopardy, etc, work fine.

I have the same thing …
I created a fresh installation of Plex Media Server on a different PC on my home network and it has the same problem. I created a Library for TV and configured the DVR. Any new recordings for local shows, like the nightly news, are missing cover art. Can anyone confirm this IS WORKING for them? Is it just a few of us that record local shows and care that isn’t working correctly like it used to?
I am recording local shows and only some of them do not have artwork.
I am wondering if the EPG source is the culprit (for me, it’s ICETV) so I am checking that ATM, and will update.
I’m using IceTV as well and seeing what you’re seeing as well. Could well be the EPG provider.

It’s been that way for a number of years and I can’t see the copyright situation changing as there is no benefit to the broadcaster. In fact broadcasters intensely dislike PVR functionality as it breaks their control over their prime time and enables add-skipping so they will never be helpful! The artwork we do use is obtained via TVDB and MovieDB.

The thing that bothers me a little though is that some shows aren’t even tagged with the placeholders e.g.
