Live TV & DVR Fails

As I have stated previously, I will ONLY provide logs via PM with a Plex employee.

Live TV is still a disaster. It still force closes live tv stream no matter the platform. Sometimes after 5 minutes, sometimes after 20 minutes, or if your are lucky after an hour or two.
Plex should not kill my active Live TV & DVR stream EVER. If I want to play a TV channel for 8 hours without interruption, your software should not have an input and should play my live tv stream until I tell it to stop.

Please tell me what logs you need to diagnose why all of my android based devices have issues with playing live tv. You can play a channel, and it will just randomly die and pinwheel until it force closes the live tv session.

I just had two live tv sessions (one on a GTWGCC & one android tv player) die at the same time for no reason at all.

I have 3x google chromecast w/ google tv, 1x roku, all desktop plex apps for windows, etc, and all suffer from Live TV & DVR issues in the plex client in one way or another.

The only stable experience I have had with Live TV & DVR as of late, is your new beta Plex HTPC windows app, however, I have not had extensive time to test that app.

I would have to agree. Haven’t had a viable Live TV/DVR system since I got the plex pass 18 months ago. Based on my experience, it would seem reasonable to conclude that Live TV/DVR is a scam to get people to pay for a Plex Pass.

I’m starting to realize this as well. I cannot even watch live TV on anything but the Plex app and Plex web app. I cannot stream any live tv to Chromecast. It reports h4 not supported.

@slid_ve Yes, employees read the forums (I’m not one). Management probably won’t let them reply tho.

Regarding fixing this, it’s up to management to make it a priority, like anything else… Don’t blame the entire company (forum watchers) because of management’s decisions… (crazy, I know)
