I first setup Plex Server on a Mac mini with HDHomeRun. Live TV was listed under the Settings/Manage area… so I added the TV & DVR… worked great.
I just setup a new server using WD MYCLOUDEX2 Ultra… got all libraries loaded and all working well with my Apple TV client end. However, “Live TV & DVR” is no longer listed in Settings/Manage area.
Hmm, No reason. The Mac mini is running 1.13 and I do seem to be having difficulty installing newer version… I’m also new to the Mac world… I need to investigate this. Thanks.
Dane, your reply was not helpful at all. I went off investigating … what about my Plex Pass, I thought. If you would have said “you need a Plex Pass to get live TV”, I would have understood that your answer was not the solution since I DO have a Plex Pass.
For the Plex Community, I have figured out the correct answer to WHY I am unable to see “Live TV & DVR” in the settings. Here is the solution.
When you buy a new WDMYCLOUD and use the dashboard to install Plex, it will install an old version which, in my case, did not support Live TV.
Install the latest version:
select Apps
Select “Plex Media Server” on lefthand side bar.
Turn Plex off by selecting the “RUN APP” Off button. The server will respond with “updating…” and turn off Plex.
Select “Install an App Manuall” in upper lefthand area.
