I have a problem and I’m not sure I’m getting it routed to the right person…
I have two old favorites channels that don’t have a “…” therefore I can’t delete them… (will attach pics)…
I’ve tried the Web Site to delete the two favorites in question. The “…” is missing there too… Can’t bring up the “delete” tab to get the job done.
I’ve tried a clean rebuild of the OS and Plex with no change. I must be missing something.
I am willing to clean off everything and rebuild if I knew how… Got a Doc or an Idea?
HELP !!!
Duane
I got this back from Elan:
Hi Duane, I ran into a QA person, and he advised:
PMS version? Also this looks like the Desktop app. What about Web? any other app? Maybe favoriting something else and then checking that this new favorited channel can then be removed from the Favorites tab. It could just be that because the only favorites are broken that that is causing the removal issue
If that doesn’t help, please make a forum thread with the issue for more visibility, if you haven’t already.
I added and removed from Live TV Favorites the NFL Channel using the entry from Live TV’s Plex Channels. I attempted this from the Plex web page player.
The old two Favorites are still there and missing the “…”. I tried to delete the old ones before I added the new favorite, while the new favorite was added, and after I deleted the new favorite…
Are these channels still present in your main Plex Channels list? If so, are you able to hover over the poster and click the filled-in heart icon to remove it from your favorites?
No. they are not still present of the Plex Channel List… If you notice from the screens, after the clean install, the Set Up Plex Tuner is still undone at the time of this screen…
Just did, I setup two HDHomerun Tuners… I can make any channel a favorite or delete them… No problems… But the two old favorites are there and you can’t delete them or make any change to them… No Heart icon and no “…” icon.
Is there a way to erase the favorites or the whole system itself?
I tried to completely erase of both the OS (Formatted Windows C drive) and re-installed Plex… NO GOOD… Problem still here…
The only thing I didn’t erase was Drive A which is the Raid5 Array holding the Media directories…
Does anyone know how to do a complete and total wipe of the Plex app and database?
Since I did a complete erase of drive C, unless their is something on the Media drive (Raid5 Drive A) or something on the Plex Corporate system that is causing this problem I don’t understand why my total wipe, re-install, and re-population of the database didn’t work…
I’m willing to do a total wipe (except erase Media on drive A) again but what am I missing so the problem doesn’t repeat???
Drive A holds over 10,000+ movies and 45,000+ TV episodes… Approx 60T in size - Yes I said Terabytes with a “T”…
Favorites don’t seem to be connected to anything local to you and looks like they’re tied to your Plex account. We’ve raised an issue to investigate.
The only other thing I could think of trying while we wait is to use another Plex client (Mobile, Apple TV, Android TV, Smart TV, HTPC) and attempt to remove those favorites there. This could be a Web specific bug, which Desktop and Web share the same code base so it would make sense that both would be affected.
@DuaneKiser when you get a chance can you double check on this again? The issue required a manual fix to your account. Just wanting to confirm that this is now resolved.
