I have the same freezing issues with PMS running on a Synology NAS DS218+, an HDHomeRun Quattro, and running Plex Web on my Mac or the Plex Client Android App on an NVIDIA Shield. Everything is connected through ethernet except for my Mac which is on wifi.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I know this is no help and you all have moved on but the common thing I see between all the posts is the home run devices.
I have a feeling that may just be more to do with the fact that the HD Homerun tuners are the most popular. Iāve been experiencing the same issues where often times a TV channel will play for about 5-10 minutes and then just freeze up. I also see the āweak signalā message sometimes, but it doesnāt seem to have anything to do with the signal since this happens on channels where the signal strength is at least 90% or better. It also works perfectly fine if I use the HD Homerun or Google Live Channels apps. I can also reproduce this when streaming in my browser directly from my PLEX server, so this is 100% something to do with how PLEX handles things. My server is running Windows 10 with an i5 and 16gb of RAM, so should be more than capable of handling anything PLEX can throw at it.
Iāve tried the suggestions here to update my Intel drivers and everything else I could find, but nothing has helped. I have a HD Homerun Quatro, so I decided to try out a Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD tuner. I did notice some minor improvements and it seemed to be working much better at first, but after a few hours the freezing started again. This has gotten to be pretty annoying since the only reason I bought a PLEX pass was for the live TV part, and at this point itās basically unusable.
I have the same problem. Running as a container in Proxmox with 16gb of RAM and a massive CPU. 10gbit network and hardware transcoding available. I always thought signal quality was an issue, but Iāve replaced my antenna and signal quality is no longer an issue. I can use the hdhomerun or channels app with zero issues, but Plex skips and freezes constantly with live tv. Using a hdhomerun quatro.
I have had the same issues with Plex live tv. I eventually tested emby as a last resort and no freezing at all. emby also has so many more settings for live tv, one which I like is fast start, with that on I still dont have freezing and its starts almost immediately.

Same here I have a 10 gig Network and upgraded to gig internet and all 4 of my hdhomerun Primes in the recent couple months Iāve been having issues with live TV freezing.
I have tried Tablo and Channels DVR since I originally posted this back in September. Both are superior to Plex live TV. I have settled on Channels DVR as my final solution. It allows me to be able to see the channels from my AT&T streaming service right along with my local antenna channels. It has great commercial skip. Recording features are excellent. Remote access to my home channels works well. I wish I had gone down the channels path 2 years ago and skipped the Plex headache.
