Plex server on Mac mini, HDHomeRun, wired to Ethernet in house, trying to watch live tv on AppleTV- program freezes like 10 seconds in. How do I fix this? It is absolutely not the antenna.
I have a live TV freezes within a couple of minutes problem, also. What I’ve noticed is that it will happen when I run the plex app on my FireTV stick. I have run tv from an HDHomeRUn, and a Hauppage WinTV on plex media servers on linux and windows 10.
On firetv, regardless of HW and media server source, it freezes within a few minutes, but I can run plex on the same tv show on a roku and all is well.
I have a FireStick and an HDHomeRun Quatro. The connection is running over Ethernet. I live in Louisville, KY and can turn on Fox41 and it will run all day long without issue. At midday I normally change the channel to channel 11 and within 3 minutes of running, it will freeze. Interestingly, Fox41 will freeze after 3 minutes the same, but will pick up and keep going. Wave3 and ABC channel 11 will freeze and not pick back up. If there is anything I can do to fix this, I would greatly appreciate your help.
Same issue here. LiveTV freezes on FireTV. Works flawlessly on AppleTV and Windows. Also fails on Android tablet. I have tried about everything. Searching the forums, it sounds like there is a bug in the Android client. Hopefully this gets fixed soon or I’m getting rid of Plex for my LiveTV.
Any luck with this? I have seen this on my system too (all latest versions running live tv/dvr from an HDHomeRun. The client runs on a mac but same thing happened running on linux. The logs are not informative. Just stops. Waiting a minute and restarting allows it to run again for about 15 minutes and then freeze up again. Streaming wireless and server is pretty low powered bric computer running debian. This totally sucks since it is the major reason to use Plex - to play and record live streams - for me anyhow.
