600 seconds yes. It’s just an arbitrary high number. Normally it is 10 seconds but it times out the connection too quick on fail especially if you are cycling sources until you find a working one.
For example in Plex when initially tuning a channel the failed timeout is 20-30 seconds. When already tuned and subsequently trying to re-buffer I believe it’s a 2 minute timeout. So TVheadend has more than enough leeway with the mod while Plex does it’s thing before timing out.
Indeed! I still refer back to it even now… (tho I’ve copied the most relevant parts to my own notes.
@sixxnet - another question… have you noticed the newer Plex desktop app for mac locking up trying to view live TV via IPTV / TVH? I’m seeing specifically in the mac desktop app. IOS, tvOS, browsers… all work fine.
Hey sixxnet I just read through this entire thread. I am currently using HDHomerun and cables cards, but always interested in alternatives with IPTV being one of them. I am curious on how many tuners you have available. Does tvheadend determine that, or just your IPTV service? Curious to see what your Live TV & DVR page looks like in Plex.
Currently 11 tuners total with Tuner card + IPTV. IPTV service will determine your “tuners” or streams depending on the subscription and TVheadend has a setting to enforce it.
Can I direct message you in someway with more questions related to your setup? I currently have 9 and soon to be 12 tuners. Think we might be having the same type of setup in the end.
