Would you mind elaborating what you mean by “Live TV needs remote function”?
You should already be able to watch live tv remotely if your server is configured accordingly. Not sure if you might be asking for some kind of TV Remote to switch channels… if so, how?!

Sorry for the incomplete statement. The Live TV function is my main reason for using Plex and being a Lifetime Plex Pass owner. The Live TV part of Plex does not get much in the development or improvements in my opinion. We need a means to use our TV remotes for direct channel input. Ex. ch 9 or 9.2. We also need a means for this using our device remotes such as nVidea Shield or Roku. A channel grid (pop up) needs to be built that will allow quick channel changes, previous channel functions. The supported tuners will do this. We just need the LiveTV portion of Plex to support it. LiveTV need to get some attention.

Depending on your platform you can press down either two or three times while watching to bring up recent channels.

It would be nice to have an option to cycle through channels without first having to return to the guide. Also I would like to be able to use an IR remote as more than just a glorified wireless mouse when using the desktop app. I have a HTPC that I’d like to just run a Plex server/player on since Windows 7’s Media Center is now defunct instead of having to go through a bunch of tweaking to get something like Kodi to do when Plex could effectively do it all.

I would like to surf channels, going up or down…and being a sports fan, I would like to flip back and forth between games/channels.

What they have now is usable at best. You can’t even pick a channel and remain watching as shows change, it will just shut off when that program ends. They need to research how people watch ANTENNA TV. This interface is fine for internet only type stuff, give us a pop up remote with full remote feature in addition to the guide.

The interface needs to be consistent also, on the Windows app for PC I can select a channel and it remains on it. On an Android based device I can only select a show from the guide and the streaming stops after that show is completed. Thats fine but put some options in the settings that keeps the streaming going when that show ends.

My point is they really should put some more thought into that portion of the software.

This is not true on the Roku but may be true on other platforms. I watch Live TV and so does the rest of my family without issues on the Plex app for Roku.

I will say that the rest of the Plex ecosystem is complete garbage for Live TV and definitely needs work. The only viable solution is the Roku client.
