Live TV option not showing up on Xbox One app

I’ve setup my server on my PC, it shows all the media from that server on my Xbox One X, but the Live TV icon isn’t showing alongside the other icons in the navigation bar.

I have the Hauppage TV Tuner, and it works fine in the OneGuide, so I’m not sure what I’m missing here. Any tips?

Thanks!

You might just have to scroll over until it appears. When news was added Live TV was bumped from the visible view, but there are 2 more libraries in addition to what automatically shows on the screen.

Okay, I’ve noticed the PC app’s settings has a setup area for Live & DVR, but it can’t seem to find the Xbox, and when I enter in it’s IP, it can’t connect.

Still confused.

Sorry mbarylski, I didn’t see your comment come in until I posted again. Just tried scrolling as you mentioned but the Live TV option still won’t show. Thanks for the help anyway.

Hi @dklip. To get started with Live TV in the Plex for Xbox One app you first need to set up Live TV with your Plex Media Server. You can find a guide on how to do that here.

Thanks Moussa. Unfortunately, the Live TV & DVR setup on the server side couldn’t find my Xbox, even though it’s hardwired into the same network as my PC. I tried manually entering the Xboc’s IP, but that didn’t work either.

Ah well.

For the tuner you’re describing (which I believe is the Hauppauge Digital TV for Xbox One) you need to connect the tuner to the computer running Plex Media Server, not the Xbox One itself.

Oh, okay that makes sense. Thanks Moussa. Still, neither the Hauppage tuner or the Xbox appear as is demonstrated in the Live TV setup guide. It just spends ages searching for devices to no avail.

Sorry, I’m definitely showing my technical limitations. Really appreciate your patience with me though.

Cheers!

Is your machine running Windows or OSX? Can you see if you can go to http://www.hauppauge.com and grab the latest drivers for the tuner?
