I just noticed a number of Live TV channels with epg are available tru Plex on my Qnap NAS. I was wondering if there’s anyway to record regular shows from these channels even though I dont have a tuner ?
If you’re referring to the “live tv on Plex” online media source (a.k.a. “Free Live TV Streaming”)… those cannot be recorded.
If you want to watch/record OTA/cable/satellite TV you’ll need a compatible tuner.
I agree… it’s a bit confusing with both options being labelled as “Live TV”

Yes I am refering to the Live TV in Plex feature. Any plans to make these recordable in future?
Considering the linked support article refers to licensing terms… I suppose this is not currently on the table.
That being said… I’m not familiar with Plex’ roadmap (just a Ninja/mod).
…I saw a Plex employee refer to streaming as *Live TV" ands OTA as “Live TV & DVR”
…still confusing though.
I suppose it’s the “on Plex” part that makes the difference and that’s easily overlooked by some users

Shame it’s got a few good old US TV shows that are not available to us here in the UK.
which ones? …I switched it off after being disappointed when it first launched.
