I’ve just recently setup Plex live TV with an HD Homerun Quatro + HDTV antenna.
Plex itself runs on a Synology NAS via Docker (has been for quite a while now) with enterprise grade HD’s in it.
What I’ve noticed does not appear to be directly related to the signal strength. I will watch Live TV and randomly the playback will stop for 5+/- seconds usually. When it resumes it resumes from where it stopped so it is not like I just lost my signal temporarily.
Is there something I can check as to why this might happen?
What Plex client do you use to watch? I usually see this behavior on my Fire Stick when trying to watch Live TV on a channel that broadcasts at 1080. I have to manually go and ask it to transcode at 720 to overcome that issue. I don’t think it is my PMS because I never see this issue on my Shield or PMP or Plex Web. I just think the Stick is not powerful enough to keep up.
i have the same issue. ive tried the server on my qnap nas and on windows 10 gaming pc with the same results. change your client to 480p and it should fix the issue right?

To answer, yes my primary watching is typically done from my Fire stick. Interesting. I would say however though that this does not happen when watching other media (not live) at 1080p w/ dolby/DTS audio. So not sure about it not being powerful enough (unless I’m missing something?) if there is a difference between the streams?

This 720P live stream did not appear to stutter or pause at all.

However switching to this 1080p broadcast immediately see stuttering.

Tried forcing the 1080p steam down to 1.5Mbps 480p and does look like the stuttering stops. Tried a few other levels like 720p which also appear to work.
However I am still not clear why 1080p is unable to play without issue as like I said watching stored media plays fine via browser/fire…etc.
