On latest versions, Server and Nvidia Shield the following still occur

Tuning into one of the 8 recently watched channels from the Home Screen. I am no longer able to return to the guide listings as in previous versions sometime last year.
Is there a new button assignment that i need to be doing if the feature still exists. If not…could this be added back in?
K, updated my shield to public version 9.20.1.979 and live tv still crashes when returning to EPG. Current show i was watching should still be playing but it goes black. I have to change to another channel and then back to what i was watching to rectify it.

Trying to understand what the issue is here versus what you’d expect to see.

Would you expect to be able to jump to the EPG straight from the player after having tuned through the recent channels in the homescreen? If so I don’t think that was ever the case.
If I haven’t understood correctly could you please let me know what you mean. Also just checking that this is the TV behaviour you’re talking about and not mobile.
The answer is, “yes” instead of a live tv session getting terminated. pressing back or up button should take you to the epg listings.
I cannot recall which version was last to have this but i can tell you is before i updated my clients to this latest version. i had been sticking to version 8.22.0.27533 for the longest time until these bugs could be squashed.
This behavior is happening only on my shield-android tv clients, not mobile.
I have just tried Plex for Android on mobile phone.
On home screen going to “Recent Channels”
Selecting one of these channels to view live tv
watching live tv on that channel
then closing that live TV window, takes me back to the Recent Channels area on the home page
This is what I expect to happen. I would not want it to jump into the guide when I did not go to the channel from the guide
Could you get a recording of the sequence you are seeing on both - the mobile and the shield
my ‘return to guide’ pet peeve (which is a somewhat recent regression in plex web and other clients), is that if i browse the epg using channel favorites, when i return back to guide, it’s always switching to the main channel lineup instead (and then i need to click favorites again).
it used to be the case that if you had channel favorites defined, that would stick. (unclear if it would do favorites by default or just remember your last used lineup, i generally only use favorites so i wouldn’t have noticed…)
