Hi there,
I am getting a Shaka1001 error when trying to watch live tv via my connect HDHomeRun. I assume it’s related, but it also won’t record anything from the HDHomeRun either. For watching, this is true on Chrome (on Mac) and from the iOS app on an iPhone. see screenshots attached.
I’ve also attached the logfile.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS, I have the PMS running on Ubuntu
There is an error being returned by the HDHomerun. There are several reports in the forum. I need to find out what it means

Could you tell me if this HDHomerun is being used outside Plex or is it dedicated to Plex ?
Also could you tell me if you have a number of devices as there was an issue with tuning a device in such cases
Also could you try each of these requests in a browser and see what gets returned

Are you aware camera upload into "/.share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Multimedia/Photos/MPiPhone/ is failing because of a permissions issue?

Thanks for responding.
The HDHomerun is dedicated to Plex (as far as no-one is using it via the HDHomerun software or any other DVR, however I can access it via the software if needed). This is the only device in the nextwork at the moment.
the three URL’s all return a “HTTP ERROR 503”

Ok - then please could you find out when error 503 is returned from the user manual or consult silicondust

The Error 503 means Service Unavailable. This could be that it cannot tune these channels.
Check the cable/signal and rescan for channels

I’m having the same issue with HDHomeRun Prime and playing on any devices with Plex. It won’t stream. If I try to play on any Android devices, just buffers. If I try to play in Chrome, I get the Shaka1001 error.

I cannot watch live tv nor record
When I try and watch live TV I get the error Shaka1001
When I try and record I get “unknown error”
I know that the HDhome run is working because I can use Plex on my shield and watch live TV and record no problems. I get these errors when I try and run the PMS on Freenas.
Also fyi when I try and run http://192.168.0.100:5004/auto/v702 I get ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

Yes there are timeouts on requests to the DVR.

I see you are actually running on 1.8.4 and not 1.9.3 as you indicated

Could you try again with 1.9.3 and go through setup again.
Also I notice there is no Plex Tuner Service.log and there was an error on attempt to start the process

Could you see if there are any tuner service logs in /var/db/plexdata/Plex Media Server/Logs
Also check for disk space - in case
thx for taking a look. Sorry about not using the latest version, I installed the latest version and I am getting the same problem I have attached the logs. I tried a live TV and also a record.
no log in /var/db/plexdata/Plex Media Server/Logs
I have 1.8 TB free.
Thx again for all the help. Even though the setup sees the HDHome Run it seems like when it tries to use the interface it times out, like it cannot reach it. I have tried to Ping the HDhome Run from the FreeNas Jail shell and it can get to the HDhome run ok.
