Live-TV will not play HDHomeRun content from the Guide screen

Server Version#: 1.30.1.6497 (Windows)
Player Version#: 9.13.0.37280 (and prior versions)
Client types: Sony Android TV and Shield

Problem: Plex Android-TV client will not play HDHomeRun Live TV content from the Guide Page (when tapping on the show title in the guide grid). It will briefly go to the spinning circle and then return back to the GUIDE page. I first noticed this after the time change to standard time, although I cannot be certain about this.

Steps to reproduce on the client:
From the Guide page: Select any live show on any channel from the HDHomeRun
From the Guide page: Select any channel logo, watch channel

However - the following steps WILL play Live TV HDHomeRun content:
From the Guide page: Long press any live show, select Watch Episode, select Watch
From the What’s On page: Select any item - it will play.

There is no problem on other clients - Android phone client, Roku client, PC/Web client.

I have tried:
Clearing Plex client CACHE.
Clearing Plex client DATA and re-link app via smartphone web
Uninstall/reinstall Plex client and and re-link app via smartphone web
Rebooting the client.
On Plex Server - delete DVR, create DVR, add tuners, rescan channels
On Plex Server - delete Authorized Devices, re-link client app via smartphone web.
Rebooting the Plex Server.

All devices have the correct/current time, region, etc.
Note that the problem is NOT accessing the HDHomeRun tuner, since some methods will play Live TV. The failure is exclusive to clicking on a show within the Guide Page grid.

I found the cause. Not what I would have expected. I had Developer Options turned on, and this option was set:
----Apps-Don’t Keep Activities (Destroy every activity as soon as the user leaves it)
When I DISABLED this option the problem goes away.
When I ENABLED this option, the problem returns.

I’m not sure what this has to do with the issue, but there it is.
