LiveTV Audio lip sync off

Hi,

Plex LiveTV is struggling with MPEG .TS Lip Sync. It will be spot on at times & off about a second or two at other times. This is a daily problem. All my other movie files work perfectly. (MP4 & .MKV) It’s really unfortunate because MPEG-.TS Is what HDhomerun streams. If I use android TV channels app with the HDhomerun I don’t experience these issues. It’s seems to be something with Plex and HDhomerun streaming. Anyone else having this problem or better yet know how to resolve it?

Love Plex, just want it fixed!

Does this start happening during commercials which causes it to go out of sync? Or does this also happen during the show that you’re watching?

If it’s happening after the video becomes a little choppy which might be causing audio to go out of sync please comment in this thread here.

On my side I only experienced this lip sync problem on one channel. But I fixed it changing the audio format in the shield settings.

The channel in question was broadcasting audio in AC3 and it seems that in the auto setting the shield was not able to select the right format.

Where the setting is exactly? (So we can try what worked for you)

Go in settings -> Device preferences-> Display and sound -> Advanced sound settings -> Available format -> Manual

Then I made a few hit and miss but the one that worked for me was AC3 and E-AC3

You can lookup at rabbitears.info what audio format the channel your watching is using and try other combinations of audio format.

The only downside was, when I was watching every other channel Plex had to transcode the audio… for me it was a small price to pay
