LiveTV: Cannot switch tabs when opening menu or RW/FF

Not sure whether my title is crystal clear, so sorry about that.
When watching LiveTV, I can open the menu where there is 4 tabs :

  • Info
  • Also Playing
  • Settings
  • Details

(It’s an arbitrary translation, my tvOS UI is in French)

Anyway, if I bring this menu. 9 times of 10, it shows “Also Playing” content even if “Info” is highlighted. I can move the cursor between channels but it’s impossible to loop through tabs. I don’t even see the content of “Info” menu (I cannot press record).

And there is another bug when this happens, it’s not possible to fast forward or rewind. The time cursor moves on the timeline but goes back to where it was. (e.g. playing at 2"00, trying to fast forward to 2"10 or 1"50, it goes back to 2"00).

If menu display is OK, FF/RW is ok too.

Does not affect iPhone/iPad/macOS client.

Hi there, The menu is loading fine in the beta, but I don’t know about the RW/FF issue… I’ll test it out and see if I can replicate it with the beta.

Just to confirm regarding your rewind or fast forward issue, is it during a live show that you’re trying to pause and time shift or on a recorded show?

@Mobidic_HTPC, Live Show. TBH, I haven’t tested a recorded show yet.

(Question a little bit out of scope: how many seconds it takes for you to switch channels? For me, sometime it takes 3-4 seconds, sometime it takes about 10 seconds. But I think this may be related to the server performance).

I’ve just checked. Recorded shows are not affected by the RW/FF issue.

Hi, takes me about the same time to change a channel, seems a bit faster to tune a channel that’s from my HDHomeRun tuner than my Hauppauge tuner though.

As for the access to the top option menu while playing with RW/FF, pause of a live show, i have no issues with the current version 2.17 Beta. It’s not grayed out and I can change through all four top options.

I’ve also tried the beta and it’s fixed with latest build of 2.17
