Server Version#: 1.16.3.143
Player Version#: 4.0.1
I have relied on the filtering options in the Guide in Plex-Web for finding and scheduling recordings. I could easily find my programming of interest with the filtering options. I could filter the guide with Channel, Genre, Year, and Content Rating. Now that the updated Web interface is no longer optional, there is no way to do this in Plex-Web. It appears that option remains in Plex for iOS, but I really would prefer to use my big screen and web browser to search through the guide. Please consider adding the filtering options back that were were available when you left the grid view and went to the movie or tv show thumbnail views. The only filtering now is by Day or HD Only. Thanks
EVERYTHING is gone for me. The 4.0.1 web client says it cannot connect to my server (in the same physical network). The local client works (luckily, since it has had serious problems in the past) and family members are not having problems connecting to my server across the internet. Plus, the local client shows that the server is fully accessible over the internet. So why is 4.0.1 broken?
I was a huge fan of the filtering options for the guide especially for movies. I used it regularly to find upcoming movies in the following 14 days that I wanted to watch. This is a huge disappointment to have had this feature removed for no apparent reason. Nice you were able to make plex have a standard guide with channel listing but there was no reason to get rid of the ability to filter upcoming movies. Please restore the upcoming guide filters ASAP!
This is truly frustrating to use this feature for so long and now have it removed.
I considered this one of the First Class Plex features.
Now that this feature is gone, are we expected to browse for content using the Guide?
The whole “Guide” concept is an archaic relic of the old Live TV watching days. In 2019, we On-demand, we search, we filter, we know what we want to watch. I’d like to think most Plex users share this point of view.
I love to look at the guide every now and then. It’s pretty. But that only last for a few moments. I really wonder if having a Guide should be Plex’s feature priority. I think instead, plex should focus on manipulating the guide data, and present it in a way that better suits how we watch in this day and age of Disney+, Netflix, Amazon prime, and others. I think Plex’s original “guide” layout which showed upcoming content by major key categories like TV Shows, Movies, Sports, etc. was the modern approach I appreciated and I think many other plex users did too.
The removal of the filter options is extremely disappointing. If you do not intend to return it please let every one know so they can seek an alternative product.
Why did you even take it out? You have a DVR function but no filter capability. That is just idiotic. PUT IT BACK! I have had to revert back to using WMC for recording now as the DVR in PLEX is useless without this feature.
Well, add my name to the chorus of users requesting this functionality be reinstated. Can we get some feedback as to the priority of this item? I’m glad to hear Plex intends to bring this back, but a timeline as to when would help inspire some confidence.
This was huge for me as well and after several updates I thought it might be back. Can we hear from plex on the reason why this is gone? and when it will come back? seriously I can’t believe you took this from us…
Add my name to the list. In fact stop all work on making the fluff and podcast viewing until this issue is fixed. Other than watching Plex, my main interaction was searching live broadcasts and setting up recording with commercial removal. I actually reverted to an older revision and will skip updates until this is fixed.
