loading meta data from a excel or xml file

Hi,

I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. I'm new to plex and have been set the task at work for populating plex

with trailers and the relevant meta data from local sources.

From what i have read in the documentation there is inbuilt functionality that will load trailers into plex as long as the trailers are kept in a specific folder structure and naming convention, what i was wondering if anyone knows of any add-ins etc that would populate the meta date for those trailers from either a excel file or from a xml file?

thanks  in advance

Don't know about trailers in specific....first time I've heard about it, but in general, exporting a Plex Movie or TV section into CSV format, check my signature for Plex2CSV

thanks for the link that will come in handy,

what about the reverse csv to plex?

currently plex has no support for trailers. I'm curious where you read that.

there is some add on to read in nfo files to get metadata ( called NFO agent i think) but not XML or cvs that i am aware of

sorry we are treating trailers as home movies and so they have be loaded under there (a handful manually for demonstration).

though i guess it would probably better to load them under movies .

so pretty much as long as the folder structure\ naming convention is followed in theory i can add a nfo file (i'm currently looking into this)

and that should be pretty much it
