Local client shows remote ip when using plex.tv but local ip when browser pointed to server LAN address

Hi all,

Just recently noticed this behaviour of my Plex server where all clients’ addresses are displayed as the WAN internet-facing address. The only way I can get it to show the LAN address (192.168.0.105 etc) is by pointing Firefox to server-ip:32400 and playing from there.

So far I have tried:

  • Checking for DNS binding protection - not on.
  • Specifying my whole local subnet in Settings -> Network -> LAN Networks
  • Setting secure connections to disabled but this prevented plex.tv from loading at all.

I have no other network equipment connected to the network to cause this issue like a firewall, my only guess is that it’s something to do with secure connections. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
